I found Dr. Deb while searching for a therapist with a holistic treatment aspect. When I started seeing Dr. Deb, I was taking antidepressants and sleeping medicines. After a few months, I was off all prescription medicines, sleeping well and feeling much better. Dr Deb has also helped me in our sessions to recognize my strengths and increase my confidence. I plan to continue my journey with Dr Deb to find the peaceful existence that I am searching for.

Through 25 years of practice as a psychotherapist, she became increasingly convinced that the human mind and body have the ability to heal without dangerous drug interventions. One of her favorite role models, Dr. Albert Schweitzer, said: "Each patient carries his own doctor inside him. They come to us not knowing that truth. We are at our best when we give the doctor who resides within each patient the chance to go to work."
Her clients who have suffered with depression have instinctively known that drugging their brains was not the right answer. Using nutritional assessment and interventions, along with client centered cognitive counseling, I have been able to treat many cases of biologically based depression without antidepressant medication.
One of the most common side effects her clients have noticed with hers nutritional treatment is a surprising new ability to manage their weight. This led her to understand why a weight loss program needs to be uniquely tailored to the individual. There are many weight loss programs out there using a one size fits all approach. With me you can be assured that your diet and supplement plan is yours alone. And most importantly, it will be effective.
My most challenging case came when her mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Dementia, and was no longer able to care for herself. The drugs currently prescribed for this condition are ineffective; at best stabilizing the condition for about six months. She began reviewing and analyzing the research literature where various herbs and nutrients were tested in vitro and in mice to determine whether nature might provide a remedy.
I had to look at a number of factors in this disease, not the least of which was genetic loading. Since her mother had succumbed to the same illness, the prospects for treatment did not seem good. But based on my gleanings from the research data, Dr. Deb put together a nutritional and herbal protocol for her and began treatment. This was in 2004, and at that time her deterioration stopped. Today she repeats herself less often and is consistently cheerful.
She will periodically be adding articles written by herself and others to this web site as new research and case studies develop. Hers mission is to teach as many people as she can how to heal themselves through the right dietary interventions, to motivate change in thought patterns, and to create healthy lifestyle habits.
